JEDI EXTRACTION

Skye was standing quietly in the camp listening to the conversation. She kept looking at the crew members and Lindrala. She sighed and walked off into the Mandalorian camp.

Opegg brings Murriel's gear to Lindrala. "When we searched her, this is what we found, a blaster pistol, and a hacking Cyber-Tech-Interface, that none of my men was able to crack." Opegg places the stuff on the table before Lindrala.

Lindrala takes the interface and hands it to Axo. "Axo could you try and hack this, perhaps you will be able to break it?"

Axo takes a look at the hacking Cyber-Tech-Interface, scanning it with his cyber arm, as his analysis are going over his visor.

Axo turns to Lindrala, his mouth light begins to glow as he speaks up with his android voice: "This Cyber-Tech-Interface does not match any known signatures, it is certainly not produced by the Empire. It is a home made. I never came upon something like this before. I can confirm that this device has stored data about the Fortress's defenses. But the device does not accept my manual or digital attempt to hack it. It has inbuilt sensors that require a language interaction. And it is not even that simple. In cases like this I could simply listen to the origin source and the replicate their vocals, but these sensors have a different reading imprint that require chemical interaction, the pheromones." Axo gives another impressed look at the device before he returns it down on the table. "However, it has a limited range, the user must be in proximity to use this device to disable Fortress's turrets. I may be able to use this device manually, without its stored data, and perform the same task, but it will be significantly longer for me to hack their systems, without using this "key" that the prisoner has already prepared. This Zeltron is cleaver. One thing is clear. This data was gathered for one solo purpose. To harm Jadus' Empire."

Lindrala listens to what Axo had to say on the device and considers carefully for a moment rubbing the side of her mouth with her hand. "I think I would like to talk to the prisoner myself now." Lindrala picks up the blaster pistol from the table and starts to makes her way to Murriel. "Axo could you come with me and bring the interface tool, I cant carry both."

Zeltron's cell opens, she could see two new faces are being sent in to negotiate, and the door close behind them. It was Lindrala with Murriel's blaster pistol, and Axo with Murriel's Cyber-Tech-Interface. Opegg remains outside with the mandalorian guard and complains: "This is bloody why we don't ally with the Jedi everyday. Always talking all day boring me to death, even during the war itself, instead to get the job done."

As the cell opened Lindrala walked inside with Murriel's blaster still in hand, she looked at the Zeltron. "Well now, it certainly looks like you have been kicking up some fuss around here, among the Mandalorians and now even with one of my own companions." Lindrala could not help but smile for a moment till her eyes fell on to the blaster she was holding. "I won't lie to you, from what you have said to Benna and thanks to my technical friend here I know that your device can be used to disable the fortress defenses and that you can also likely use it to harm Jadus' forces." She pauses again for a moment and glances back to Murriel. "My friend also believes that despite it taking longer he could manually shut down the defenses as well, but I have no desire to leave you here rotting in the cells as a Mandalorian prisoner, one who would fight against Jadus for any reason could be needed in the fight to come, so I offer you this, your freedom and your blaster and gear back as a start, after that if we succeed in our mission, stop Jadus and rescue Jedi master Satele Shan you will be rewarded for your efforts." Lindrala turns the blaster in her hand and takes a few steps closer to the Zeltron, she offers  the grip of the blaster towards Murriel. "Will you join us? I cannot protect you from the Mandalorians further if you refuse, we'll be going to face Jadus either way."

Axo speaks up with android voice addressing Murriel: "An individual who can create a device like this does not need our help to escape this world. But intellectual of that level must also come to a logical decision. What is best for ones survival. I also had to join her team. Even if I could build my own flight off this world, if you have spent as long time as I have here, you will know that this planet is primitive, and having resources to pull off such a feat can take many years. You must ask yourself questions if that is worth the risk, with Mandalorians, wild life that you somehow survived, and who knows what other obstacles waiting for you. Just like myself, you don't have to like it to calculate the odds that she is your best way out." Axo looks at Murriel's device he is holding. "Besides, all what you are asked is to do what you came here for, and get paid for it. I will use your device to tear down Fortress' defenses with or without your help if needed. I will hate myself having to destroy it to download data stored inside, because your device is truly piece of an art I never had chance to encounter before. But with another intellect of this level in her crew increases our odds of defeat Jadus. If we fail then this world will fall under his rule, and then you will have to add another obstacle to your list."

Smirking, Murriel flipped her hair at Axo’s comment; a finger brushes her forehead; taking on her best ‘Holo-net Porn Star Pose’. Compliments seemed to go a long way, she actually looks like she’s accepting an award.  “Well, thank you…I have some very good people who—”

In the midst of accepting her award, it dawned on her. She looks at the Jedi; or what she assumed was a Jedi, simply because; ‘Jedi-like clothes, laser sword; talking instead of choking first’. “—like THE Satele Shan?!? Not some chick who sounds like her, but the actual one?!?!”

Murriel lost the smile and even backed up a step. “Look I --uh—this is HUGE right? I mean like, galactic significance HUGE. Not really my thing man. I’m very discreet and like to keep things low, so….how ‘bout I unlock it for you and you just take it. I’ll get off this planet, you could go save the galaxy…everybody wins!”

She didn’t get to where she was by being an idiot. These fools were diving headfirst into a pit of Saber-sharks. In her mind, if someone was powerful enough to capture THE MOST powerful Jedi in the galaxy; the last thing Murriel wanted to do was go marching in after them. Her mind started going back over the words of one of her trusted advisors just before she left ‘The Farm’. Murriel talks to herself, hearing Cora as if she’s standing next to her. “You’re right…I’m an idiot and I’ve once again proved exactly HOW stupid I am….thanks Cora…”

Lindrala stops offering her the blaster after hearing Murriel's response. "A threat as big as Jadus is always going to be of galactic significance but fine, if you unlock the tool for Axo to use and give us any further information you have, I will let you leave."

Crossing her arms, Murriel frowns. “I told you and these other idiots everything!” She gestures at her CTI which Axo is still holding. “Look, that information is Imperial. It was given to me and every other contractor hired by The Empire to do this reconnaissance mission.” She approaches the bars wrapping her hands around the bars closest to her to peer out. “That’s right. The ‘actual’ Empire. Not this Jadus fantasy that everyone keeps hearing about. So, looks like you are in a race and I certainly hope you get to Satele before they do. She would be quite a bargaining chip with the Republic should they beat you to her.”

Her voice sounded much more formal, as if she was constantly putting things together as she spoke. For a moment, she actually sounded like she cared. Face tightening, Murriel comes to a decision. Extending a hand, she flips her fingers gesturing to Axo. “Here….give it to me….you guys are runnin’ outta time.”

If Lindrala would approve, Axo would in that case hand the device over to Murriel. "I could only image what wealth reward is there waiting for those that rescue the real actual Satele Shan. I could really use an upgrade."

Lindrala looks to Axo and Nods in approval for him to hand over the tool to Murriel.

Taking the CTI, Murriel spins it around her hand to look at it, before snapping it back on her wrist. The ‘weatherguage’, as she calls it, looks like a glass bulb which sits by the manual input slot. A space for datachits, code cylinders and various other means to put data in or take data out. She looks up over the top of the CTI, smiling wickedly as she licks the tiny glass object. The ring piercing her tongue makes a clicking sound against it as the device begins a power-up sequence.

All at once the device comes to life, ‘bleeping’ and ‘chirping’ making some type of grinding noise before settling down. The last information viewed projects itself in the ions above them all; partially in and out of the cell which separates Murriel from the others. Multi-tiered floor plans with red icons begins to appear in the blue field; Aurebesh markings explain what each icon means as Murriel takes a moment to look up and over at Lin and Axo.

“Defenses are one thing, they got those from the air. But this thing tells you nothing ‘bout troop movement or where their holding the big tamale….” She watches them for a reaction, nodding her head at the cell door. “…and yur welcome. I’m Murriel by the way and this don’t mean we’re friends. I’d just git no end ‘a grief if I let sumthing terrible befall the Jedi’s ‘one true god’….”

Lindrala raises an eyebrow for a moment then throws Murriel's blaster pistol to her. "There are no gods, there is only the force." She smirks. "In that case get yourself ready, there is much to prepare for." Lindrala makes her way out of Murriel's cell.

Seeing Murriel armed again, Opegg sees that Lindrala menages to strike deal with the Zeltron. He approaches to Lindrala. "I hope you know what you are doing. Here take this. Should the Zeltron decides to betray you, just activate the shock collar."

1. (Release Murriel) That wont be necessary.

Lindrala takes the shock collars control from Opegg, she glances at him for a moment. "Thank you Opegg but that wont be necessary." Instead of hitting the button to activate the shock collar Lindrala hits the release button causing the collar to fall from the back of Murriel's neck to the ground.

Opegg shakes his head as he looks at Lindrala, Axo, and Murriel. "Your crew is waiting for you inside. Are you ready for the briefing?"

1. Yes, let's proceed with the mission.

Opegg leads Lindrala, Murriel and Axo back to reunite with the rest of the crew at the war table inside the shelter. "It's probably too soon to speak, but it seems like your Captain was able to persuade the Zeltron to cooperate." Opegg activates war table, displaying holo images of the Night Fortress and surroundings. "We need to update the map with turrets exact range and how to plan the frontal assault. We could simply send our fighters to bombard them from above, but that would risk killing Satele Shan. We need to breach the Fortress on foot, and for that we need the closest landing point. Zeltron?"

War is negativity. Murriel fights back the physical sickness using various means she gathered during her ‘upbringing’ on Nar Shaddaa. Though anyone looking at her would see that she is choking back the urge to retch all over the Holo-table.

Without a word, she takes the code cylinder attachment and plugs it into one of the ports on the Holo-table. The blue field ‘derezzes’ a moment and fizzles as it loads the new data. Red icons begin to appear on the outside holo-image denoting armaments as information in Aurebesh begins to scroll past them all within the field.

“This…is the tactical overlay we were given by tha Empire’s ‘overlords’, just in case we found ourselves in a position where we needed to know the base's layout.” Flipping a switch on her CTI, she looks down at the Chrono display. “This information has not been updated and is at least three days old. Static emplacements should be sound, but HUMINT movement needs to be updated in real-time…that means ‘eyes-on’ or COM-SCAN from space…” Looking around at them all, she drops her head a moment realizing she just gave more of herself away. Using military language may have revealed more about herself than she wanted to.

Apple examines the holo table now updated with Murriel's data. "We can land on the near top of this terrain, and proceed on the foot in the red zone. I will be in the range of disabling the turrets with my CTI. If I am quick enough no turret will get a chance to fire." Opegg is looking at the war table as well, narrowing his eyes. "This will work, but it is too close. Not that you will just appear on their radars, but you will also be in the reach of their ground forces. They will not let you stand still and disable their defenses, you will be their priority target. You cannot hack and fight at same time, if you try to fight them back turrets can wipe our entire team, it's a suicide mission. Someone will have to come with you to defend you."
