Personality: As a result of growing up poor and not having a stable home environment, Ameeshara had to learn how to survive on her own from a very early age. She always managed to somehow get by though. A trait she learned later to be attributed to her force sensitivity.

Background Story: Ameeshara was born to refugee parents who died when she was very young on Balmorra. Her force sensitivity wasn't discovered until she was in her late teens. She grew up on the streets, moving from place to place, never having a long-term home. She always managed to get by though. She was cunning and charismatic and found it easy to manipulate others into getting what she wanted. She never realized until years later that she was subtly manipulating people with the force.
On the eve of her 20th birthday, she was having a friendly conversation with a cloaked woman in a cantina on Alderaan. The woman was no ordinary bar patron, however. It turned out that she was a powerful Jedi Master and was sensing Ameeshara's attempts to persuade her with the force. The Jedi confronted the woman about her latent force sensitivity and ended up convincing her to come back to Tython and be tested to see if she was qualified to become a Jedi.
Ameeshara excelled at the academy. Her street-smarts helped put her on-par with the other students at the academy who had been training to become Jedi a lot longer. She had never received formal combat training before, so she lagged in the area of lightsaber combat. But as several years went by, these shortcomings faded and she would end up surpassing the other students and graduate the academy as a full fledged Jedi.
